Welcome to the Landy family.
Looking at the door hinge, its a series 2. Also it has a series 2 grill but series 3 gaurds.
Brake servo will be out of a series 3 also. My truck doesn't have a brake servo. Uncle Ho tells me it's easy to fit.
I hope you have fun getting it back on the road. I did. It takes a while but worth it. I got most of my information from this site.

1. It is difficult to tell externally late 2a guards from Series 3, although most Series 3 guards have a heater opening in the LH side. However, if you look under the guard, the 2a has a flat panel between the foot well and the top of the guard, whereas the Series 3 has the flange further forward and a formed panel to allow for a dual, power assisted master cylinder. It is possible that this panel is missing, but the attachment for it on the guard should be there, and you can see if it lines up with the floor slope.
2. The detail is not quite good enough to see in the picture, but Series 2 and Series 2a up to 1967 had a separate wiper motor for each side, with the LH one being optional (although required by some states by 1967), mounted on the windscreen frame itself. After 1967 a wiper motor was mounted in the LH end of the parcel tray and drove two wipers by cables, with the wheel boxes attached to the very top of the bulkhead above the ventilators rather than to the windscreen itself.
The guards with headlights were fitted from 1968 (suffix G) and this example is either an earlier one fitted with later (or S3 guards) or a suffix G fitted with the earlier radiator support panel.
The key to the original state of the vehicle is the chassis number, or more particularly, the letter suffix to it. Perhaps the major changes were at suffix D when the electrical system was changed from positive to negative earth, along with a lot of other changes to the electrical system (e.g. key start, temp gauge, dual wipers as standard etc), and the G suffix (see above plus beefed up transfer case and gearbox). Since most bits are interchangeable, at least as complete assemblies, there is a good chance that the one you have is a bit of a mixture anyway. The chassis number should be on the plate in front of the gear lever, and also on the side facing flat of the LH rear back spring hanger.

The first thing to do is, get your chassis number and punch it into the calculator on this site
http://www.classiclandrovers.no/?page=documents/vinlookup& (which is sometimes more accurate than the CalVIN at Clifton.)
This will give you an idea what was standard for the base vehicle.
Given that your vehicle, is highly modified it is likely that a number of things have been changed to meet the requirements of the RTA.
(I know that when I fitted a V8 Holden to my S2a (suff G) I had to change the brakes to a dual line hydraulic circuit and fit 2 speed wipers.)
John is correct when he suggests that the guards look to be S2a suffix g with an earlier radiator support panel. However that said, it was very easy to swap the front panel of S2/S2a guards with the later suff G/Series 3 front panel.
As well as the headlamps in the mudguards, the suffix G 109" 6 cylinder had a vacuum booster on the pedal box, a single line hydraulic master cylinder and 3" wide X 11" brakes. (Same as the series 3) it is likely that whomever did the Holden conversion may also have fitted the 6 cylinder brakes.
From 1967 the S2a had the single cable operated wiper motor in the LHS parcel tray, this appears to be what you have from the posted image.

Glad to be of assistance.
Given that date range, it would mean the cross-eyed grill panel (radiator support) is actually the original for your vehicle and the panels with the headlamps in the mudguards are actually the retro-fitted bits.
What plans do you have from here?

Nice looking shortie!!!!
My first Landy was a 2a Shorty, looked forward to the rain finishing to pull the hardtop off for spring/summer/autumn.
It later became my brothers first Landy,he put a ute cab on it and drove it around till the chassis broke.
Can see myself getting another one oneday, especially since the missus loved driving it too!!!!

Ive taken the gaurds off and the bulk head is full of rust :( this isnt a good start lol both suports were the doors bolt on are gone and along the top below the screen is shot,im guessing its a big downfall in lanndrover overall :),the bulkhead moves when i turn the wheel so im guessing theres some major weakness or the steering box is to tight or need of tlc, looks like alot of grinding ahead of me lol,Cheers LandyAndy keep the missus happy everyones happy lol,yeh i cant wait to hit the beach im very close to double island point rainbow beach QLD..thats why i brought this thing :)

That is very unfortunate, people in the UK fix things like that because that have a greater rust problem over there (salt on the roads during winter).
If I were you, and being so near the coast, I would head inland to find a complete firewall. Anywhere west of the ranges is the best bet. Trying to get one off a local vehicle is likely to have similar problems just waiting to appear.
Also you should check your chassis, particularly near the spring hangers, the rear cross member and the 2 cross members under the gearbox and engine.
If there is rust in those, the vehicle has been doing a lot of beach work and you need to do some serious thinking about how to proceed. :(:(:(

Whereabouts are you?
I have a bulkhead I could be induced to part with - no serious rust, but has been butchered a bit to fit a non - standard engine, although it is likely that bit of yours is usable.

Yes. I'm afraid that is a bit far away. How about putting your location in your profile so people know this sort of thing?
All the best with the 88 - sounds as if you have quite a bit of work on your hands.
