Where oh where can you find info on spark plugs. Every motor manual I've ever had has listed the plug number and plug gap. Except for my Series 1 manual. All it mentions are.............it has spark plugs:(.
Now, clever me already realised this, but not enough info. Who knows what spark plugs should a Series 1 2L spread bore motor use, and what would be the gap for same.
I have received conflicting advice prior to this request and the plugs that were in the vehicle were not what was recommended to me.
Cheers

Hello Numpty,i,m having a mental blank on the plug number [not unusual after a few ports].but the gap should be .029 to .032 thou.:D

G'day Numpty :)

I gave NM the info a few days ago, as we were having a discussion about the starter in Leon, the Rover part No is R262796 in my old plug cattle dog it states N8 Champion, but I prefer to use NGK B6es in 7:1 motors, I think that the oil might be the problem, as I had similar a few years ago, couldn't keep it in the motor, loosing it from the oil seals, and gummed up the starter and plugs, changed to Pentire 20w-40w and problem solved, oil stayed in the block, was loosing viscousity at temperature, starter clean, no fouled plugs,:) It may be worth a try, but that is only my opinion.

cheers
