Just a query regarding Mud rails. i just received a set from expeditionexchange.com ( https://www.expeditionexchange.com/cart/product.php?productid=19222&cat=0&page=1 ) and was just double checking that the rails they sell in America will fit an 03 defender (au spec)
I know its bad manners not to introduce myself to the forum, but i will when a Defender is parked in my driveway (next week) :D

Considering mud rails come from the UK.... Guess what!
Yes, they fit, the seats dont change anywhere!

If you have not yet fitted these to your Defender, can you take a few photos and measurements and post them up for me?
I am thinking of fabricating some myself, as at 6'3" I feel like I need to get back a bit from the dash.
If you could do that - I'd appreciate it.

yeah - i know what you're saying, but I love building things with my welder. As a percentage of the cost of the car the $120-odd is pretty insignificant.....

i will do a very detailed photo/report thread, with all measurements. photos of my legs before and after etc. ( 6'5 )
I wont be fitting them at home, but i will remove than refit then to take the pictures.

Here's a link to something similar.
I want to do it myself too as I would hate to spend the money only to find I don't like them.

That link doesn't direct me to anything specific, but I believe I know what it is.
I purchased mine before I even owned a defender (still technically don't.... yet.) I figured if they didn't work for me, I could sell them here in under a day.

Jeeezzzz.... You don't need measurements & diagrams for this! This is probably the easiest mod to do to a Defender - The rails are just basically spacers.
Just get yourself a length of box section & some longer bolts... Cut to length, drill some holes and bolt it all back together. 30 mins top.

That D-90 site is quite interesting. I found some vented doors which puzzled me:

What's that all about?
