yep, but usually before this becomes an issue it eats the belt.

Yep! had that happen 400km from home...expensive fix too. Get it looked at now...

Rover V8 balancers are notorious for shifting timing makes. Mind you most rover v8 harmonic balancers would be at least 12 to 13 years old??

Bolt thread in the crank was gummed up and it wouldnt allow the balancer to be tightened hard up against the crank snout, i used a shorter bolt and it was good after that.
