I know this has probably been brought up before but I had a search and couldn't find how often the Fuel filters on Disco 2 TD5's should be changed?

How do you check that the TD5 fuel filter needs changing? Surely not just because there's water in the drain?

You can not really check it apart from water, the only way to check it is to cut it open.

That makes it a bit of a job to put it back on if it was still OK.

We replace them every 40 000kms. At nearly $100 :o for a genuine filter, most people don't want it done more often...:p

just be mindful that four wheel drives in melbourne is not the cheapest place for everything BUT...

if you need a rover part and can give an accurate description of your rover and its mods 99% of the time they will get the part that you actually need (as opposed to what you think you need) out to you inside of 3 days regardless of where you are in aus providing you pay the postage.......

I have never had any issues with four wheel drives in Melbourne. Always cheap, reliable and what I order. Quite often genuine LR parts as well. Their catalogue for referencing parts is worth the cost too.

Ditto that --who'd pay $100 a filter??, must be a big cost for postage.:)
