Gday all,

Have just been working on a few things in the 110 engine bay (removing air con system mainly) and I was considering fitting the EL Falcon thermo fans I have that used to be in my Range Rover.

Now there are a couple differences I can see, the major one being the top hose on the radiator fouling the cowel on the thermo's a fair bit.

Now obviously I could just chop away at the plastic coweling and "make" it fit but I thought I would check here and see if anyone has any ideas or pics on what they have done to fit thermo fans in a V8 110.

Thanks for any input.:)

G'day,
the thermo fans were fitted in mine from the factory and sit neatly in front of the aircon condensor. Maybe pick up a pair from the wreckers?

Yeah I have those but I am removing every last part of the air con system. I want to replace the viscous fan with some decent thermo's that sit behind (engine side) the radiator and pull air through.;)

All done. Steve drop by the shed and have a squiz if you like.

EL Falcon fans slightly butchered.....fit just as well as they do on the rangie's.

Now just need to remake the wiring set up to suit the 110 and it's a goer.:)

Also removed the air con shizzbo from the engine bay in anticipation of converting to firewall vent flaps again. I cant wait!:(

Good - you've saved me some work. I plan to do this on the D100 and should be similar to yours as mine had a V8 rad and cowling.

However - It didnt happen without pix!!! :D

you know those plastic things where the flaps should be dont cover holes, don't you?
that means to put flaps on it you will have to cut out the holes and manufacture a sealing lip on the holes to fit the seal into.
he he ----flaps, lips, holes!

Been there......done that.;):D:D

http://www.aulro.com/afvb/projects-tutorials/34045-remove-c-replace-vents.html

There is a recess there for the rubber seal. Apply glue to the back of seal and place into position (after drilling out 48,000,000 spot welds that is).

I'm not looking forward to doing this again, but it has to be done......I cant stand a Land Rover without vent flaps anymore!

have done this on my 93 rangie. The 110 maybe different, but check my thread at rangie.com for the fitment article.
