Why bother ? Sell the County with air con, ad buy a Defender.
Unless its a 4bd1 - then I can understand.

i did mine not so long back, pretty easy job.
you will need the bracket that sit's behind the dash for the handles to attach to or you could modify the one you have, obviously two handles and two vents.
you will need to cut out the section for the vents as on these aircon models they weren't cut out at the factory.
i also bought myself some thin heavy duty flyscreen from bunnings (ally i think) and cut it to shape and stuck it to the inside of the bulkhead behind vent openings to help stop all the crap from coming through.

I have done it twice - and just recently to a spare 110 firewall. There are about 40 spot welds to be drilled out which hold the blanking plates in. Total overkill:mad:
I plug welded each hole and welded on hinges for the vent flaps. Hinges and flaps came from a series vehicle - you have to drill out l the spot welds to remove the hinges from the donor firewall. Its all much easier when the firewall is out of the vehicle but thats a big job in itself. Because my firewall was bare, I had it sandblasted and sprayed in organic zinc. I then resealed all the seams with Sikaflex, applied top coat and filled the cavities with fishoil. Its now in storage..........

I will be doing it soon, but I sort of cheated. I have an '85 Isuzu County with air con. I bought an '85 V8 County without aircon and with a better body. I plan to swap the motor and box:D
Anyone wanna buy a V8 engine..........

Are the engine mounts on the chassis the same on Petrol/Diesels?
I have a feeling they may be different...

The mounting points are different. I will be transferring the Isuzu mounts to the V8 chassis and will need an engineering certificate and a mod plate.
