I'm looking to replace my old original steering damper because I was told to do so as the standard ones are **** week and leak etc.

I found this on ebay 4 Way Tough Dog Fully Adjustable Steering Damper (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/4Way-Tough-Dog-Adj-Damper-Land-Range-Rover_W0QQitemZ220209492515QQihZ012QQcategoryZ3086 2QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) has anyone got one in there Landy or know of someone who does and is worth buying.

Firstly I doubt if you'd ever adjust it. Secondly, you can pick up a Bilstien damper for less. Thirdly, there's nothing wrong with the standard one's for most driving.

Just like of have adjustable Koni shocks, in 6 years on 2 vehicles i have never touched them. Save your money, as DM said the stock damper if in good nic will be fine.

I agree. The steering geometry and dampening of a good quality replacement will be fine. Only Patrols and Landcruisers need adjustable ones...

Spend your money on something else... :D

Hi,
I run a Tuff Dog Return To Centre (RTC) one and it takes the shimmy out of the front when the weight of the caravan is on the back. The RTC one is great, I can vouch for it.

The adjustable valving one is just on the market but if you have to use the adjustment to compenstae for wobble in the steering wouldn,t you get the problem fixed any way. (i.e. Death wobbles on GQ Patrol). :(
