Hi to all.
Im new to this type of question and have tried to find out what type of V8 conversion can be done to a 130 defender.
Chev 6.5 ? and who in QLD would do this type of work.
One more question. What causes the thumping noise when you let the clutch out ( have had the new toy for 3 mths )
and is it going to cause any damage if left alone.
Cheers
In regards to the conversion dose any members have Photos and a price of the work done.

I would get under your car with a tyre lever & check your engine & gearbox mounts for that thump. You will fracture the others eventually.
Cheers,

Yeah 13k for a motor off them, you could rebuild mine 3 times for that, or stick low comp pistons in it and run the turbo with a bit more boost:D, 200kw/ 700Nm, you know you want to:p

The thump could be worn ball joint on the back axle, worn leading/trailing arm bushes under front or rear axle. Loose UJs, worn gearbox to transfer splines, worn clutch plate springs.
And the list goes on.
