View Full Version : Wanted - indicator/high beam switch

Cap
1st May 2008, 03:20 PM
Anyone got a spare indicator/high beam switch? Mine has melted the plastic bit where the low beam/high beam bit is. To suit an 85 RRC.

Also, does anyone know where and how much are 4:11 ratios to suit?

Cheers

Ashcroft or Great Basin Rovers, about $1000 landed for both. Or there is a set on ebay. Interesting to see what they go for. :)

I presume you know to fit a relay for the headlights to prevent future failure of the switch (once you replace it).

I had a switch fail on me in the worst possible conditions - could have been very nasty. Convinced me to never risk that again.

I had a similar experience with my 1984 RR. Used a double pole relay to switch the lights to high beam as at the time a switch was a costly replacement. Let me know how your switch is behaving, what it does, and I am sure I can give you a quick circuit to incorporate the double pole relay.

Thanks for the replies people, I will look at getting some relays to bang in. Now to find a switch, Rovercare, you got my PM dude?

As for the 4:11's I think that wont happen as yet. Gotta sort out (read spend) other stuff first, like the suspension lift which will effect, shocks, brake lines, swivels to be machined and other stuff no doubt.

You'll have to ask Rangier Rover to provide that, he's bought the blower kit:D

I know, I know, I've had quite a few mates laughing at me:(, I've always had 4WD's with some poke and noise...........sad, so sad:(:(

Will have to see if I can get huge turbo whistle to help relieve the pain, matter of fact the 4BD1 has just landed at TNT, will pick it up after brekky:)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :Rolling:

ULP in Hobart ATM $1.42 but diesel is $1.73 :BigCry:.......I am not so sure its worth all the trouble. My last 4x4 was diesel and besides paying more for the fuel, you have to handle oily greasy fuel bowsers, stand in big puddles of oil while filling up and then idle downs but I suppose they have an upside :no2:

I still love the sound of the V8 in the mud :burnrubber:

Well Matt, seeing as you no longer need your 3.9 slipped liner engine, how's $100 sound for it??

PS: and NO, theres no 'special services' that go with this unlike your post in Outerlimits re the Blower :D :D
