Ok it hasnt been raining here but its cold...

SWmbo just sent me out to turn the lights off and close the garage door. I got a bit wet from the condensation that had formed on the door to the garage and insperation hit...

what if I put a small fan over it to increase the air flow so the metal can condense more water.

what if I made a kind of S bend duct where the cold side of the peltier cooler attached to a small heatsink in the bottom part of the ducting cools the air on it and drops the moisture out of it while the hot side is on a larger heatsink on the top of it so that the heat makes the top part of the S bend work like a chimney and draw more air through the duct.

What IF it was all solar powered?

I think I have some experimenting to do.

Dave
you have far too much time on your hands, must have to be able to have 'free thoughts'
but alas you are a bit late someone else has thought about it.

here

Making Water From Thin Air (http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2006/10/71898)

and here

Air2Water - pure water, water machine, water from air, residential water cooler, water system (http://www.air2water.net/residential.html)

just google 'water from air'

saw one at an Ag show last year, looks a bit like a stand alone cooler.

right ideas, different concept...

the salt absorbsion one is about the least energy effecient but about the most effective.
