I see this is your first post, Welcome aboard.

If you do a search on here you will find plenty of info. Just use the search up the top.

Which side of Melbourne are you? The gas conversion on the ranges can be a bit tricky to get right if not done properly. From my knowledge there are two types.
1. Conventional Vapour Type Mixer
2. Gas Injection

Unless you car is in perfect tune the conventional mixer type can backfire and destroy the Airflow meter, about $500 to replace, i think.

I have been looking into doing gas on my 4.6 and IMO the only option is Gas Injection. While it is more expensive, It gives better power, better fuel consumption, and i would say a little more relaible as it uses a computer to adjust the mixture.

Range-Rove in Mitcham quoted me $5100 with a 70ltr Donut tank
LP Gas 1 quoted $3500 for a vapour system and about $5300 for Injection

Other good companies are Ritters, and Deacon Automotive

Make sure the person who does your conversion knows the Range Rover system and has experience in them, perhaps ask to look at one of their conversions.

Hope this helps

I bought my P38 in Melbourne and it already had a gas conversion done.

It was done at Ezygas and is a mixer type.

It works beautifully and I have never had any problems.

i recently bought an 87 hi line to tow my other one with. its running duel fuel with mixture type. when working well its great, but ive only owned the car about 3-4 months and have already blown an airflow meter apart and had to trace a vacuum leak to get it running again.

I opted for injected gas for my 96 RR

Cost $5000 less the $2000 rebate four years ago.

The tank is a 100 litre fitted across the wheel arches as per the pic.

Loss of load space is a pain, but less of a pain to finding a new home for the spare wheel.
System is the Italian one and over the four years and approx fourty thousand k's has not missed a beat.

Brother in Law also had the same conversion done on his 98, but opted for the smaller doughnut tank and now has a very large spare tyre floating around the back
