A post shamelessly stolen from the RRNET forum:

As this site is predominantly Stateside, I thought you guys living on the 'wrong' ( ) side of the Atlantic might like to see a couple of photos from the 2008 Goodwood show. This year, to celebrate their 60th birthday, Land Rover are the featured marque. As such, they have a display as the centrepiece to the front of Goodwood House.
This structure is about 25 meters tall:

The cars were all normal production Land Rovers but have had their engines and transmissions removed (presumably to both save weight and to stop any oil leaks!) and yes, the last picture is the right way up!

There was a post in the RSS News Feed section, Chichester Observer have a video of the sculpture.

It's 45m tall (they had to put a red light on top to warn low flying aircraft) and they "purposely rusted it up to give it that rural robust feel, like land rover".

Of course, being a Rangie, it's already been to the top. The others are still making their way - after all the RR was the precursor to all the modern Landies.

And the Defender is based on past sereis and present so it has the best of both:D

I used to live near then and it was easy to pop in. Its a great event. I've rubbed shoulders with Eddie Jordan and watched an F1 star do handbrake turns in a F1 car :-)

Hehe, they must have been trying to work out which model can double as anti rust proofing system for that rusty frame.
