Hi all

would like to upgrade wattage of globes but not fry the existing switchgear ??

From previous threads: no relays are fitted.

I've been running 90/100 since about 2002 and there have been no problems with the switch gear. Where they do eventually fail is at the plug that goes into the back of the globe - they slowly melt and increase resistance until they fail. I now run a Traxide headlight box and loom with relays etc in it and so far so good.

Just remember if its a post 03 D2 with the polycarb lights, DON'T put higher wattage bulbs in or you'll damage the lenses.

The D2 isn't affected by them... except the glass will crack if you do night drives in water. :(
