Hi
I did a search for this and came up empty so apologies if this has been covered.
I have firmware 2.01 and believe I should upgrade to 2.01p. All the doco mentions use of the application NanocomFirmwareLoader.exe – where is it? I’ve searched my PC (after install), the supplied CD and finally the Nanocom website – nothing….
I’m sure I’m missing something…..
Thanks

im having trouble with the patch also. this is the reply from nanocom. i still havnt got around to installing the patch.
this is also in the nanocom faq section.
To load the firmware upgrade that you can find in the restricted area of this web site:
First you have to disable the INSTRUMENT option if it is active. To disable this option you have to give power to the Nanocom keeping pressed key 1 (the first on the left) until the display shows the words "NANOCOM rev X.XX" like the normal startup. Now enter the function STARTUP SETTING of the NANOCOM SETUP menu and select the item NORMAL instead of INSTRUMENT
Now press OK and ESC until the Nanocom turns off, or cut the power supply
Connect the Nanocom to the PC through the USB or RS232 port
Turn on the Nanocom without pressing any key, the display must show the words "push a key or connect me" and the LED must be on with RED light.
Launch the application NanocomFirmwareLoaderX.XX.exe
Select the COM port number used by the Nanocom (required also for the Nanocom with USB because the USB device is seen by the applications as an emulated COM port )
Click the button "Download" and wait for the end of the process.
The firmware is correctly stored when the "Firmware download done succesfully" message box appears
Click Ok to close the applicationcheers phil
Thanks Phill
However that email basically says “New firmware ready to go” – doesn’t answers my question. I have uninstalled the old PC software - installed 2.02; I now want to install the new firmware on the box but can’t find the exe mentioned in the following step.
Launch the application NanocomFirmwareLoaderX.XX.exe
Obviously I’m missing something, where do I find this executable?

There are two download locations on the nanocom website.
From the Nanocom website toolbar they are called-
>Downloads
>Restricted area
The firmware is found in the restricted area. You need to register on the site and receive a password. Once you've got that you can log in and download a ZIP file (NanocomFirmware2_01p.zip) containing the firmware loader.
Extracte the ZIP file and you will get NanocomFirmware2.01p.exe
Hope that helps.

Beauty thanks guys, now I'm on my way.
It’s not exactly “follow it to the letter” stuff. Have to run NanocomFirmware2.01p.exe which is the installer and contains the unit's OS – mmm bit different.
I was looking for an extra deploy tool (of sorts) called NanocomFirmwareloader2.01p.exe – that’s where I was mixed up – read the instructions too many times..
