It will be some time before I am able to do meaningful work in my two series 1s - other projects will have to come first.
So the question is - should I drain the coolant systems or should I leave them filled with the required mix of demineralised water and anti-corrosion inhibitor?
Thanks

As long as you have your inhibitor up to the correct concentration keep them full. If you drain them they will rust on the inside. I have seen too many engines left dry and when they are eventually refilled and fired up the rust on the water pump shaft just rips the seal to bits and your in for a new pump. Unless you have brass frost plugs these will probably let go as well and it will always be the one behind the engine that goes first.[

I would be inclined to leave the cooling system full.
Although the Series 1 was intended to use plain water, I would use an inhibitor/antifreeze for the reasons given by freewheeler. If the engines are going, running up to operating temperature to get rid of dissolved air will help reduce corrosion. Of course, you need to make sure the cooling systems are not leaking. If there is any danger of frost of course, the inhibitor should also be an antifreeze (most are).
How important this is depends on where you are storing them. If stored in an inland climate, it is less important. More important if on the coast and in the open.

Being stored in my backyard in Canberra under some blue tarps - very cold and dry.
Thanks
Will top up with antifreeze and anti corrosion inhibitor - oil change as well - my bench has currently 4 FC101 batteries on trickle charge and will now have another 2 to join them.
