I have removed a cactus 27Mhz set from my ute, which was bolted to the rear of the cubby box. For the moment I intend to fit the UHF there, until I can sort an overhead console.

At the moment there is a small hole drilled un the metal plate underneath the console, which has the power cord running through it. This hole previouslyu had the CB aerial cable as well (I had to cut the plug off to get it out).

Given that the UHF cable I have is fully assembled... where would be the best place to run it ? Should I drill the exusting how out (would need to be a lot bigger in order to allow the plug the pass thorugh).

Any and all USEFUL advice appreciated.

Ok so I ran it and it was all working fine until....

I went to Carlovers and managed to snap the antenna (or rather the base of the antenna which seems to be a seperate bit but is, of course, not apparently availble seperately) off with the hose thingy. Sigh. A new one (with a spring base) is apparently about $130ish and has a different cable (attached to antenna) so I;d have to run one... again !

Anyone have a spare UHF antenna that goes straight onto the standard GME type antenna socket at the bullbar ?

Advice ?
