Can't see a tech section here but i need help please
My Nikon D100 has stopped registering lenses for the autofocus... can still manually focus and shoot but think my eyesight is going ;)
Any ideas before i take it to a professional??? Oh and does it on every lens.
Cheers

Like Lou says, clean the contacts on the camera body and also on the lenses. Clean the entire mounting ring as well.
The other thing is move the focus switch around a few times between M, S and C.
What lenses are you using are they ones with a built in motor or that need to be driven from the camera. The early AF lenses (about pre-1990) had a screw like connector to the motor in the camera body. If its something like that then its off to a repairer or a new D300.

and take the battery right out, leave, re-insert.
But sounds like a repair job.

Good point, also clean the contacts on the battery and terminals. Use a soft white eraser and an air puffer to blow out the crumbs.

All the above suggestions worked with my D200. Upgrade the software if available

D100 has no firmware upgrades available. However, it may be worth searching the Nikon Knowledge Base (http://nikonasia-en.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nikonasia_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php) website.
