Just thought that some of you may be interested in a build which is taking place on Outerlimits4x4.
The build has nothing to do with me.
Its a Rover 3.5 that is being used in a comp Toyota Landcruiser run Mog axles and 44" tyres which is being built in Queensland.
The motor is a 3.5 which I think may have been converted from 2x carby to EFI. Its had a custom set of exhaust manifolds up to a turbo on each bank above the heads. These feed into a common air/water intercooler which then ats as the plenum over the inlet trumpets.

and also $20k + all of the other stuff like transmissions etc. This one looks like its a pair of Supra or something turbos and some good ability in fabrication.

Why a 3.5:confused: Hope it's a stiff block. Likely not a X bolt mains.
I would think a X bolt 4 ltr or 4.6 be a good donor for this one.
I like the intercooler. That setup could work under my eaton M90. With a 2.5" body lift it may fit:twisted:

I think that was just the motor he had in it.

Very neat for a custom job anyway. I'd say it will get a reputation once out there. I'm not sure what it may be though;)

Nice! How did you set up the turbo (single?) what type of power did you end up from it?

The guy is on my RC Crawling Forum. The trucks had a rover motor for while now. At least the last 2 Tuff Trucks it was running it.

Thanks.I bought it awhile ago off a Rover wrecker and put it all on myself. Its running a single turbo (T04) set up with a cross over pipe running off each bank and an external waste gate. Its a draw through set up which is the old school way of doing it.It runs straight LPG through a Gas Research throttle body.It made 156kw at the rear wheels and a HUGE amount of torque. If i was to spend a bit more money on it i could extract a lot more power out of it.The plennum part of it is very restrictive and more hp could easily be made there. Its only a standard 3.9 V8 with no other modifications except for a recurved dizzy. One day i will go injection with more boost and a front mount intercooler. That would be fun! :D
