and don't say a Falcon or F100 :p

Toss some ideas at me.

Will a 351 fit into a RRC ?
Chevs do, so would a Clevo ?
Can you mate a C6 up to an LT230 ?

Maybe I should just flog it to fix the things that need fixing on the Defender, but it is a damned good engine. 0.040" oversize hypereutectic pistons, Sealed Power rings, 302 2v quench chamber heads with 4V valves and hardened inserts (for LPG) Everything internal was new 114,000km ago, including all the bolts, oil pump, timing chain etc. etc.
Scorcher/Bosch dizzy with a Holden spread cap and HEI, curve to my specs.
Only ever run on synthetic oil and LPG. Very occasionally I would switch to petrol, but the only petrol it would run on was Avgas or PULP with octane booster
Bump stick is relatively mild for torque, it was in my F100 ex-ambo (long retired) that I used for work and towing the race car years ago.

I really don't need a project, particularly if I don't want to sleep with the dog, but it's a damned good engine just sitting on a pallet......

Stick an F-truck sump on and yes. I have a 351 here as well with same heads and valves. They go hard:twisted:

Edit.... Just noticed you already have efy sump

You may need a Atlas Transfer Cases by Advance Adapters, Official Home Page (http://www.atlas-tc.com/) and Dana 60 Diffs:twisted:

I think it would be a bit heavy, and make the Rangie handle ummmmmm.........Less than optimally :o

Ritters used to do a kit to mate the c series trans to a machined off LT95, still a few floating around out there. Try rovercare he may have one.
And not to heavy, used to have a 308 and that was fine, also a chev V8 diesel, ok aswell.:)

A bloke I used to know had a business swapping Chev's and Holden's into them years ago in Sydney, just wasn't sure if the Clevo would fit.

Already setup and fitted with a 302C and C4.
Unfortunately not in the market to buy at the moment.

Hardly noticeable and better than the piddly rover motor;)

Nobody makes kits, I'd just source a LT95 with C4 and use the factory FoMo Bellhousing etc, make some engine mounts and you in, I don;t have one unfortunately, that how I set up my windsors I had, The Clevo will fit, just be snug setting up headers

A Bronco C6 and transfer case would make it an easy (relatively) swap, if you already have a C6 the Bronco transfer case (new Process) should adapt to your box, Bronco's had reasonably short tailshafts and double cardon on the rear, so a good source for transplant would be a Bronco, they have a shorter wheelbase than the SWB 4WD F100, Regards Frank.

Hi,

Isn't there something a bit different internally with C6's compared with C4's and C9's? I seem to remember reading something years ago about some difference with second gear.

cheers, DL

You can't use any Ford 4WD transfer case. A Bronco transfer case setup has a centre output to the rear differential (not offset as in LR) and the front output is to the passenger's side - opposite to the RR or LR transfer case and front diff. It might fit into a P38 however - you could also probably then fit a Bronco 9" rear assembly and disc brakes!

C4 to series Land Rover transfer case adapters have been around since the 1970s.
The C6 is a much stronger auto but being wider is probably impossible to close-couple adapt to a Land Rover transfer without rotating the transfer case and fabricating new mounts. Even the C4 had clearance problems with the front tailshaft uni. A remote transfer case would be fine in a LWB with a centre bearing on the bellhousing crossmember if fitted up in a six cylinder series chassis.

Windsor motors fit in perfectly with only minor firewall clearance modification for spark plug access with a six cylinder firewall. Cleveland's are wider so there would be more clearance issues.

You beat me to it.

The only t/case adapter Advance have is for a Dana 20. :(
50-3300 (http://advanceadapters.com/product/1694/50-3300.html)
I actually have a D20 in the shed and a full rebuild kit for it including new shafts :D
But I'd lose the full time 4WD and decent low range unless I used an Advance or Terra Low kit :(

Maybe time for another CJ6 :o

Stick it in a Mini Panelvan.
