A clue from Jeremy Bowdler (Editor Two Wheels)

Ho hum. That old thing? Suggest a quick search for Franco Sbarro. You might turn up a thing or two…

If you're feeling adventurous, you could always ask for a test ride on the McLean Wheel...

....Hubless wheels work by fixing the rotating parts (brake ring, bearings, hubless rim) onto the outer side of a non-rotating inner ring that attaches to the motorcycle’s swingarm or forks....

I understand how the front end works but how in the hell is the rear driven?
One radical looking bike, I also like the comment of " it was not designed to be riden"

how in the hell is the rear driven?

Think of it as a 2 piece rim .... The silver shiny drum part that you see (does not turn) & is fixed to a X brace that is covered with those Triangle red covers .... All you need is a drive shaft and then a 90 degree diff to return it to a massive "gear ring", that is in between the fixed (silver shiny) drum & connected to the wheel rim

The brakes are made of leather and are worn by the rider. ;)
