I've decided to put a rev counter in the 300TDI and can remember seeing a tutorial on how to do it with the rear of the alternator shown, and I cannot find it anywhere . Can anyone help.
Thanks

For those that want to know:) the VDO part number is 333-156 for 4000rpm rev counter.

Good question - is it illuminated green, and is that the standard colour for VDO gauges eg fuel etc.

Hi Gents,
The correct part no is VDO 33305017G revs to 6000 rpm not the 4000 as previously indicated, there were problems getting one in WA and I cant wait when the money is burning a hole . The loght is yellowy red, i think you you can get a green globe or sleeve to change the colour but I havent as yet. They are quite hard to calibrate as well if you dont have the special rev counter thingy so only an estimate, I do know that the top rev limit is correct as per the 300tdi spec, but the idle seems a bit low? I hope this helps, also dont try and put it in the no1 position next to the speedo as it wont fit because of the dash bracket behind.

That's funny - mine fitted in OK next to the speedo (2002 130). Am about to fit one to the 90 so will see if that has a dash bracket behind it.
