Has anyone struck this problem. When I attempt to set off road height the vehicle only rises slowly and a warning shows on the system panel. If a try a few times it shows a compressor overheated warning.

Normal after repeated changes of suspension height. But how many times over what period of time? If it's the first time there is a fault, problem compressor, leak somewhere.

The compressor will go into a reduced operation mode if it starts overheating. But that usually only happens after lots of up and down.

If it's happening every day, it could be either that the compressor is on the way out or there's a leak in the system somewhere.

What MY is your car?

The car is MY07 and it happens after 2 or 3 attempts

If you go up and down in quick succession, you may get this message and the car will only rise slowly. The compressor cannot fill the tank quickly enough with lots of rapid changes in height, so it tries to work harder. It has a temp sensor which feeds back to the ecu which in turn reduces the operation of the compressor to protect it.

If you're going from Access to Off Road and back again 2 or more times in quick succession, this is normal. But if you're only doing it once, it's not.

If you have been in mud you may want to check your compressor housing.
They can fill with mud and prevent the compressor from cooling.

That happened to me last week aswell when i was washing the car, I lowered it to make it easier to wash the top and raised it later to wash the wheels and inside the arches, must have been at least an hour in between.

I have also since then had the suspension warning light come on several times for no apparant reason, allowing only normal ride height to be selected, I switch the car off and it clears for a few days.

Also my airbag light was doing the same last month but has since stopped.

Might be worth a trip to landrover.

Could be the connectors behind the LHS wheel arch if you had just washed it. Pull apart and put back together again. Then spray with 'Plasticote'.

The airbag light could be the rotary coupler fault. See if you can get the dealer to fix under warranty as it is a saftety issue.
If your cruise control also stops working that is what it is. Otherwise check the connections under the seat.

Thanks

I will go and have a look at that now.

Not had any issue with cruise control but if the light comes back on I will be mindfull to check the cruise control to so if its working or not

Well my hectic schedule finally allowed me to visit the Landrover garage about the slow suspension raise and the suspension fault light.

It turns out there is a problem with the air output from the compressor, and a $1000 price tag to go with it.

The aftermarket warranty should take care of it so hopefully get it fixed next week.
