Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone had had problems with heavy clutch and heavy steering? The problems arn't rediculously severe but it just doesn't seem right on a 2004 model car!
Cheers matt

The brakes on my 260,000km FL1 are firm but not heavy - not too light, not too heavy - just right.
The clutch is quite light.
The same applies with the steering and I have 225 width AT tyres.

do you reckon replacing the auxiliary drive belt would make any difference?

Won't make any difference to the clutch.
Will only make a difference to the steering if it is slipping so badly the the power steering pump isn't turning enough to provide pressure and flow to the rack.

yeah thats what I figured, I guess the question is how can I know if it is slipping or not without having to change it? I know twisting it would be the norm to check tension.... but would that necessarily mean it isn't slipping (assuming it is tight I mean).
If the belt is slipping would anything else be noticeably affected?
