latly my clutch in me fender has been doing werd things,, sumtimes it juders if you dont jive it sum revs, an seems to be ither on or off, its fine in low range but that would be cos it dont need to work so hard when taking off, its worse when its cold, so im guessing that its dying an need to replace it, it has done 90k an has towed a van offroad since we bort it new, and it dosent slip one bit

what are peolpes thorts an what are other sings you have had of your clutch going,

Could be the duel mass flywheel giving problems.

It could be the master cylinder or air in the line.

It could be the master cylinder or air in the line.
i had the same thort, or maby the slave cylinder is loosing it , cos iv replaced the master about 5k ago,, an the slave is the same since new, maby its leaking internaly;),

i will be replacing the clutch sum time soon enyway, but i just want to be sure its the clutch, iv herd of people replacing clutchs an still have juddering,

and allso on the erly td5s the ecu was the resion for juddering on take off, but since mines a 04 i wouldent have that prob ecu

This happened on our car and LR replaced the clutch and the flywheel. It certainly fixed the problem.

How was the clutch just after the new m/c, and why was the m/c replaced?

My TD5 Defender 2003 model has just started doing exactly this. Somedays it judders like crazy in 1st and 2nd as you take up drive. It just started doing it one day. It's now got 173,000k's on the original clutch, so I figure it's due for a clutch job. I also think the RHS engine mount is stuffed which might also explain this juddering.

It's booked in to be looked at at the end of this month.. (the roof has also come loose - so it's getting that put back together again!)

My 200K TD5 D2's clutch is a bit jittery but there's air in the fluid line every time I bleed it. A kit is waiting for me in town next time I'm there and I hope it fixes the problem.
