Today I flashed a Tombie upgrade to a '03 D2a auto. :eek::eek::twisted:
It was a 'mild to medium' map, but VERY impressive improvement to the vehicle in ALL aspects. Smoother idle, fantastic throttle response, pulls effortlessly all through the rev range and best thing is 1 VERY happy customer:D:)

I unreservedly recommend these improvements/ upgrade to anyone. Thanks for the product support too, Mike:)

I can imagine:o When Mike told me it was only a mild to medium tune, I was amazed, love to try a full house one soon, but need to select a willing participant from the audience....:p

Another vote for Mike,:arms::twobeers:

I have a TRT I/C, egr removal and some crazy ecu.

In under 1000ks it has managed to make mince meat of my clutch (still had heaps of meat left on the plate). Kill a few native animals due smoke inhalation:wasntme: (running 19ish psi.)

Still has a 3" zorst to come

But I love it.

Yeah, I heard you had the BIG MAP, :cool::twisted:

I have a customer who is willing, but it is in a 90 and I'm worried about him swapping ends under acceleration:o

he will run out of gears before he can do that, it really needs an auto, lets you keep both hands on the wheel then

I must confess here that it has taken me TOO long to organise flashing Toombies maps, Now 'I have the power' there's no stopping !!!!:twisted:

Soon, he'll begin the non flash ECU's and then it'll all be on:twisted:

Agreed Ian, an auto conversion to a 90 with the full house TRT service would be a great bit of kit:cool:

Hey Justin
I recently changed mine to a flashtune ECU with an auto logic upgrade.
LOVE IT.LOVE THE BLACK SMOKE UNDER FULL NOISE,just like an old Mack Truck.
When I picked the camper trailer top up I tested it on a few hills on Albany hwy,120ks at the bottom of hills and 130+ at the top and backing off the loud pedal too,with the stock ECU and no trailer the same hills would have the D2 down to 100ks.
Yet to see if I can get any economy out of it,being enjoying the new lease of life too much,I dont think it drinks as hard as a V8 when pushed but I feel its puting out a few more ponies than the V8s.
Does get a little warm,101deg with the trailer on big hills,will look for a D2a intercooler and the radiator is getting close to its useby date.

Hi Benny
My clutch has been groaning for over 2 years,its now rumbling from time to time,I think the extra power has reduced the amount of time before the inevitable,new clutch and flywheel.

Thats impressive figures especially towing:twisted: The reason I mentioned the surprising lack of smoke because there seems to be a fair amount of effort gone into the mapping to get the level of performance without excessive emissions. Lots of smoke usually equates to excessive EGT's, have you got a pyrometer onboard yet Andy?

PM 'B.A.S' on AULRO Tasi, He could point you in the right direction I reckon. Short of slotting in a Gen3 (Major headache) chipping is your answer here.
( Oh, and lightening up the vehicle helps a lot too, they are quite a lump :()

thanks Justin will do that.
coincidentally was talking to a coupla mates last night (mechanics - speedway/circuit racing) before i saw this thread about chipping diesels . as nobody seems to make aftermarket blowers for these we are thinking maybe a spare engine and build as can afford over next year, maybe 5ltr. port job, cam, some balancing etc.
but it must be driveable round town, and sweet as a 4WD :twisted:. so will look into chipping,remapping etc.

BAS ?? ...... is he Bell Automotive Services in the UK ?
sorry about the sidetrack fellas will now pull head in

Justin we will possibly be down in Hobart before Xmas will give you a call and if timely say G'day.

Might have to give this a go, because:twisted: I have to very careful were I give it a bit. :angel:

I thought you could not run over 19psi because the ECU reads it has over boost :confused::confused::confused:
