Hi Peter.
This site is a weath of information which us F/C nuts have put togehter and much better than those other sites.
My 101 has non standard seats.
I believe the original ones were the same as series rovers.
Mine are Sable brand and fit and work well.
The problem is you loose a little bit of room from the seat to the steering wheel.
If you are a little bit on the big side it will be important.
What ever you fit must be thin profile.
Some 101 owners remove the panel holding the spare wheel from behind the drivers seat , and that gives you room to fit what ever sort of seat you want.
The spare wheel is relocated to one side at the rear of the tray.

I have been trying to find some pics of my seats.
This pic is the passengers side and show the battery isollating switches and the retractable seat belt reel location.

This is the sort of thing which might fit.
These seats came with my 101 for use in the rear.
They were imported from the UK.

If you look at these pics carefully you will see one looking along the tray to the front.
Note the spare wheel location on the floor and not up behind the drivers seat.
I can only guess the alloy panel which use to hold the spare has been removed for a non standard seat and a tall driver, to get the room required.
Also note the tanks above the rear guards on each side.

Peter,

I also feel your pain as well - I go numb after about an hour. As`Ron said what seats you get need to be relative thin as his 101 is a tight fit for my voluptuous figure .

In understand that county/defender seats go in well - attached is a pic of a 101 with defender seats.

Garry has nailed it.
I own a Defender and the seats are thin and surprisingly comfortable.
I would think the seat runners would be a straight bolt in fit to a 101.
The defender seats were designed to replace the earlier series seats and to fit in the limited space of a old series design.
You also need a seat which the back tilts forward to allow maps and stuff to be stored behind the seat as the 101 doesn't have a glove box.
The defender seats flip forward as required.
Defender seat seats have a removeable bottom cushion......but that is not really a advantage on a 101.

Thanks all for the input, appreciated. Defender seats definitely worth a look, they might even allow for my fat singlet!

Glove box???? I knew I had something missing, another problem solved.

Thanks,

Peter
