how unusual! Not sure if it is a standard perentie chassis though as I didn't think they had room on the rear axles to fit 2 tyres that size.

Can't say for sure either but the two tyres on the rear axles look to be very close together. The 9.00 16s are only 1 1/2" wider than 7.50 16s and given that the S2B rims they are sitting on give a wider track than the Defender rims it still could be a Perentie chassis. The firewall and windscreen sure look to be Perentie.
It's a vehicle you would sure want to get out of the way of if it were coming towards you!

tas101fc had not seen this picture before now, and near had a heart attack when he saw it.!!!
I'm now headed for the shed with gas axe in hand to re sculpture the S11A FC in to a formidable off road weapon, complete with Australian army issue bull bar jerry can holders and a turbo jet engine for good measure. ;)

.... Am I to understand that Forward Control Taz and Tas101FC are 2 different people?
My apologies if that is the case.:(
Will correct earlier post if necessary !

O.K. People strange request.
I am on the lookout for the current whereabouts of two SIIB.
The first one is 33100099A
The second one may be 33100098A - the second owner believed the seminal owner to be the University of NSW although I can find no record of one going to UNSW, however #98A went to Australian National University. This vehicle we are looking for had a Narwal tipper body with 3 stage hydraulic ram.
If you know of either of these vehicles, the original; second owner would be interested in their current fate.

Here is 33100042A I aquired a few years ago as a future project. I have my series one projects to finish first, so I am in two minds what to do with it. It has no plate on the firewall, only the chassis no.
Sorry about the size of the photos, my thumbnails used to come up bigger ,I dont know what has happened.
Cheers

I have the same problem, the vehicle I'm restoring has no plate either although I do have 2 other plates on the other vehicles that I could copy. No one in the UK makes decent SIIB reproduction plates either.
I wonder if there is anywhere here in Oz where they could reproduce the photo etched/annodised chassis plates?

I get hobby quantities of stuff photo etched in brass and nickel silver every now and again, PM me if I may help. Might be a bit pricey though, about $130 for an A4 sheet.

I'm going to be doing some anodised plates for 101 here and OS fairly soon.
Post or PM some pics and I will let you know if I can help.

Peter I can send you an actual plate off one of my other SIIB if you like.
As long as I get it back.
The plate is very similar to regular plates (see below) in size etc. although it says 110" Series IIB Forward Control and has the different information on selection of 4WD.
