If it is on the fire wall you want to fix it quick as it is steal. clean it back as best you can and us some rust converter. Also have a look around the LHS bracket where the windscreen is bolted to on the inside in around the vent. I have a 94 defender firewall in my county and that is where was rusty. Tim

If it is just the brackets, remove them and either replace or clean and repaint them. If it is the metal around them, particularly the firewall below, remove them and see how bad the situation is, as for last post. Having removed the bracket check the hole through the firewall as well. There has probably been water getting under the bracket - make sure it is sealed properly when reassembling.

You will need to take it all back to bare metal, apply rust converter and when dry/deactivated apply cold gal. and a primer then top coat.n Keep an eye on it.

They all leak
Turning circle - you can wind the stops in a bit or get used to it
Ride Qual - I'd be checking yr springs/shockers - Mine is stock and has a nice ride. Firm but fair!
Power - Depends on the size of yr boat, I guess - You can get the Td5 tuned for a lot more power if you choose - 180Kw is possible - 120 to 150Kw pretty easily.
(Intercooler and Chip)
Yeah the IVeco looks ok - not sure what a HJ40 is (I used to have a BJ40 - now there is a bone crusher !)

My county dosen't leak, will flog a Toymota for turning circle, power, cost of running, ride...... The list goes on. If you hate Land Rovers you will get a shock if you buy one of those over rated jappanies 4wd!!! My biggest gripe is with toymotas is that they can't get where I have had my landie.

dude sounds like you bought the wrong motor you should have bought a toyissan they have no character at all and fall apart just like everything else.
You need to learn to love it, it will be faithful if a little wayward at times it's a land rover thing
