Anybody used Suspension Stuff in Brisbane. I am looking at a 50mm lift on the 04 D2, they're offering one kit for $730.00 and another with Bilstein shockies for $950.00. Info welcomed.

We have used them twice, very happy with them, they will set you up with the right kit for your car and needs:)

Just check the codes on the Bilstein shocks, when i spoke to them they where the standard shocks not the extended versions.
However they could source the extended versions if requested.

im using dobinsons coils 187lb front/240lb rear & lovell shocks from S.Stuff a good kit for the $$$

Much the same as Maggsie, looking at a replacement suspension kit, possibly the 2inch lift. Main question to add, what's involved with fitting it yourself? Spring compressors would be one thing, how long would they have to be to fit the longer springs? Cheers

Another thing... I measured the centre wheel to arch on my four wheels, and found the rear right and front left measurements about 30mm lower then the rear left and front right measurements. Does that mean the springs definitely need replacing? or could new shocks even that up? And yes, it does wobble a little over bigger bumps! :eek:

shocks dont even your ride up shocks are the cushions,,, springs are what give you height and leveling

I installed extended 2" springs (OME) into the front of my SLS D2 last weekend - relatively simple job. Bought garden variety spring compressors from Super Cheap. Worked a treat, but it was a bit scary winding down on the thicker spring. Just make sure you fit the compressors onto the new springs in the same position they were when taking the old ones out.
I found that the extended springs were exactly the same length but were much thicker. Obviously they sag 2" less under the same weight giving a 2" lift.

Thanks biggin, they're the same length?! Okay, so the supercheap ones work fine, that's great. Do you plan on replacing the front unis with greasable ones, which a lot of members seem to recommend?

what are your measurements will be intresting to know
Rear centre wheel to arch (right wheel 490mm, left 464mm)
front centre wheel to arch (right wheel 456mm, left wheel 484)
Only variable was i kind of had to estimate 'centre wheel' as i was just holding the tape where it looked like the middle. Was pretty fussy with it tho.
I'd love to know people's measurements who've either had lift speings in, or simply new standard springs.

IVe done 5 lots of his springs.
IVe only heard of one complaint and that was from someone who bought the springs but had to sell them off for a need the money now reason before he got them fitted.
apparently if you go for his inhouse shocks he can now have them custom valved for you id you have a specific setup you want OR you have a permanant load out in your vehicle that warrents something different.
Im not super impressed with the rubbers he provides for the front end but thats a real nit pick.
definately worth the money.

When I fitted my 50mm lift Lovells springs I tied them up after compressing then when in place just cut off the wire . Worked for me.
Would put in pics but dont know how.

Well I bought the 50mm lift kit today, even after Andrew told me he didn't have the springs I wanted in stock. They will reach him on Monday and then be freighted to Perth, Xmas is going to delay the delivery I think.

I fitted the SS kit a few weeks ago. Very easy to do. Took me about 8hrs from start to finish. Spring compressors make it easy, I too got a cheap set from Super Cheap. Only other tools were a 18mm and 13mm spanner and sockets of same size. A floor jack is handy aswell.
Tieing the springs with wire when putting them in is a good idea, as then you do not have to woory about getting the spring compressors jammed in the towers when undoing them.

Finally fiqured out the pics.Here is how I tied them it made it heaps easier to fit
As I was having a hard time levering down the axle to fit them.And the compressors did not want to go in becauase of there size and shape.
