How do you guys put your signature and copyright symbol in the bottom of your pics....

is there a specific program or can it be done in Lightroom/PS3 etc etc

I created an action in PS that I run if I want to put a signature in the corner.

I do it as an opaque layer in photoshop. I have a keyboard macro that loads the layer over the photo, then compresses all layers and saves the file.

I dont have as much to do with imaging as i used to and it only gets pulled occasionally when Im doing something that when used I want the credit to goto a certain place. OR if Im using to past identifications on something.

Lou, you can record an action as you do the steps required. I'll put together the basics a bit later if I'm not to tired.

Basically all I've done is record the creation of a text layer where I need it with a drop shadow. I actually have to update it as I put the year in the text.

For Lightroom the Mogrify plugin works great and being free is always good. LR2/Mogrify - Add Watermarks, Border and Text Annotions to Images Exported by Adobe Lightroom 2 (http://www.photographers-toolbox.com/products/lr2mogrify.php)

Inside it says I have to load in the imagemagick before I can use the other plug in but can't work out which one I need out of the several it offers for 32 vista...

it offers 8 bit this and 16bit that:(

I suspect 8 bit and 16 bit refers to image bits/channel. LR2 is only 32-bit like your Vista is.

I'm sure it does but still doesn't help me know which one I should be loading

ok so it has the file in the zip file I have downloaded but I will be bugger if I can get this pluggin to work there is no .exe file to run and opening lightroom to add a plug in doesn't work either:(

JPEG is all 8-bit (before anyone jumps on this there are 16 bit variants but they are hardly common)
RAW, TIFF are 16-bit (actually RAW is 12 or 14 bit - depending on camera - but PS will handle it as 16 bit)
PSD is 8 to 16 bit
HDR can go to 32 bit and so can TIFF

For what you are doing if it's all for JPEGS then the 8 bit is fine. If you are going to save to 16 bit PSD from a RAW (NEF) file then you'll need the 16 bit version.

The plug-ins for Light Room are really making me rethink keeping with Aperture. But the work flow in Aperture is so nice... Why isn't there just one product the does everything:confused:

Inside I have it all loaded into light room now all the relevant things I need to do it...but how and where do I do the watermark? do you have any idea what it needs to be saved as? I tried to do one in PS but as soon as it was added to the pic no matter how I tried to make it transparent it came up as a white square on the bottom corner of my picture rather than just the signature.

I use PSCS3 and tu place my signature i select the font and then press Alt and then the key 0 1 6 9 for the simbol and after type my name
Alt 0169 is the default code in Windows ©

Woooo hoooo I have done it......and I haven't just done it, because of the various plug-ins available once I finished altering my picture I can send it straight to photobucket and when it does it it automatically adds my signature....thanks inside!! how cool is that :)
