Auto Question

Does anyone know if the D2 V8 auto box is suitable for a TD5? Having aquired a D2 wreck one of the options I was fantasising about was an Auto conversion for the Fender. Is this possible or is it geared all wrong? Being a 2001 model is it ECU controlled? I am assuming an adapter plate is available. Already considering the trans box conversion to trial. Can the CDL from the Fender be used and is it a big drama?

Wouldnt it be easier getting the correct TD5 box/ECU??? Just turn it into a fishing buggy,YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO:D:D:D:D

The V8 shift points etc are all different.

Maybe Ashtrans can answer but isn't a Disco 2 auto ECU controlled therefore dumb, so that the shift points would be determined by which ECU controls it?

Not sure. I had thought that the gearbox ECU controlled 3rd, 4th, the torque converter, shunt control etc...... but I'm not definate at all on that.
