Hi all, I have used the serach function but I am still unsure, so thought I would ask the question my way.

I have a 2002 Defender 110 with a 2" lift, it has standard boost alloy rims and I would like to know what size 35" M/T tyres will fit ?

I dont want to trim any flares if possible and must clear off road.

Appologies if this has been asked and answered before :)

I doubt you would get away without trimming the flares for 35's and only a 2'' lift, you might be right just driving around but as soon as you start flexing up the tyre's will grab the flares.

Also if your standard alloy rims only have a small off-set with that size rubber the tyres may rub on the radious arms and limit your steering lock;)

I could be wrong with the tyres rubbing on the flares though, but our 33's were rubbing on the county's rear flares offroad with a sagged 2'' lift, now it has new springs (2'') there is no rubbing but it is still pretty close.
Psimpson7 should have more of an idea......

Hi Mark,

My experience is as follows:

no lift with 235 85 r16 on LR Alloys - no rubbing
no lift with 255 85 r16 on -25 offset steels - some rubbing (rad arms and arches slightly) but not too bad. When heavily laden it would rub more.
2" lift with 255 85 r16 on -25 offset steels - not much rubbing from memory. (I did also trim my panels around this time)
2" lift with 35 11.5 r15 on -25 offset steels - some rubbing with trimmed arches etc. Not enough to need to remove the arches tho. However these were Silverstones and they measure undersize.
2" lift with 35 13.5 r15 on -25 offset steels - With trimmed arches - rub to the point that they remove the arches on their own:D
2" lift with 35 13.5 r15 on -25 offset steels - arches removed - very little rubbing. (Obviously I can make it rub the radius arms if I set the lock stops badly) The tyres get incredibly close to the lip on the rear wheel arch however even with the arches off.
I am pretty confident that you wont be able to set up 35s to run with no rubbing with the standard arches and just a 2" lift irrespective of wheel choice. You would likely need to tweak the arches to do this. I would also say you would need a more offset wheel as you also will have almost no steering lock if you use the std wheels and dont want rubbing. That gets very tiresome!
