Hey guys I have a Series 2 and I was trying to locate the little double female type bullet connectors which are used for the lights to link park, indicators etc.
I located a parts supplier in England but they wanted $3.50 for each one and I need about 10 I think.
I have attached some pictures to help identify them and I would love it if someone could point me in the right direction. I have check the parts suppliers thread in this section and I couldn't locate these on any of them.
THX in advance.

I found them a little hard to find so made my own.

Cut some strips of heavy tin or copper foil, about twice as wide as the bullet connector length. You might even be able to use a tin can if it's not too thick.

Roll the strips from each a couple of times around a shaft about the same diameter as the plugs. I used a medium size phillips head screw driver.

You'll need to experiment to work out the right strip length based on the foil material you use.

Put the rolled connector inside some scrap electical outer or sheath. eg left over from stripping some heavy duty cable. Make the sheath a bit longer than the length of the rolled foil connector.

Squeeze the connector a little so the plugs make a good connection when inserted.

Thats about it. With a little experimentation you can make up some pretty good connectors.

Search for "bullet connectors" on ebay, there's about a squillion of them.

What exactly did they package them as at auto one?
Or you could just send me ten :)

They were loose. I bought their complete stock of original roll in type crimp connectors like this:

(not the modern plastic insulated crimp connectors) and all their bullet connectors. They wanted to clear them. Unfortunately, they gave no discount.

Vintage Wiring Harnesses will have them. It's been a while since I bought any so I don't know what they're worth now.

Or try a wrecker of older English cars. Minors & Minis are full of these connectors.

If they are the same as early Range Rover, I have some. They are yours for the postage cost.

I think that is actually for a pack of ten, that would win hands down if that were the case.

This style is still produced, and is all I buy and use. They are in the Narva catalogue. Moisture and corrosion can not get into a soldered connection.

Yeah these type are the standard spade bit type but i want to keep the rover original and it uses female bullet type connections that can join 4 wires into the same circuit. This will only connect two wires.
There would be a lot of messing around if i was to embark on a complete change of connector and i'd rather not.

They are on old Morris 1100's, Mini's, Moke's, and many other cars of that family from that era even up to the 1980's. Morris 1100's are usually given away. See if you can find some in a wreckers or old scrap yard. I may be able to find a few for you. How many do you need and of what type (2,4,6 or 8 point)?
regards
Mick

Don't send anything yet as Waxenwane said he would send some and I don't want to get greedy :)
I'll let you know if they don't suit what I need and hit you up then, thanks for the offer though.

Second this, VWH used to be at Yennora (sydney) and I rebuilt both the series 2 and range rover harnesses from there. All commectors you can imagine plus both pure cotton braid for the purists, cotton over pvc for the try hards and pvc for the P38 owners (:p).
If they don't have a trace color available then use the mechano set/wire trace painter to make it so.
They now appear to be in Vic,
