Thread: Land Rovers in Film

I was finally able to obtain a copy of the "Troll Hunter" DVD.
Plenty of Defender action, & whilst the Defender wasn't immaculate, (it was actually quite "battle scarred"!) it did its job very well.
I enjoyed it.

I don't know if this has been asked or done before, but recently I have been watching some movies at home and was surprised to see the odd Land Rover pop up. I know the odd James Bond movie etc has Land Rovers in it, few of these movies were filmed and based in America.
The movies I have seen Land Rovers in include-


1. 'Stand by Me' (at the closing scene the narrator in sitting in a Series 2/2A.


2. "Cliff Hanger" starring Sylvester Stallone - there's a scene where he drives away in an old Series Land Rover. Can't remember what type it was.


3. "The Shooter" starring Mark Wahlberg has in the opening scenes an old Series One Land Rover which, unfortunately gets destroyed.


4. "Point Break" starring Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves shows a beach scene where there's a Series Landy parked there.


I just thought it was unusual for these Land Rovers to pop up in these movies.


Does anyone know of anymore movies where Land Rovers take a starring (or less so) role are in them?

Recently rewatched Season 1 of The Walking Dead. In episode one you can see the top 1/3 of a series land rover in the neighbours yard when Rick is sitting on the front steps to his house.

"Rosemary And Thyme" are back on tv, they drive around in an old land rover swb
