The most important one to know about is "The Gods must be Crazy".
The LR has a name (Beelzebub, I think) and a character of its own. For a significant part of the movie, the focus of attention is on the LR. Some of the funniest moments involve the LR. The scene at the gate with no dialogue surely rates up there with the very best silent movie comedy. Dare I suggest it almost steals the show?

    1973 Series III LWB 1983 - 2006
    1998 300 Tdi Defender Trayback 2006 - often fitted with a Trayon slide-on camper.

If we are going to start name dropping, my Series III LWB appeared in the ABC mini-series "The Farm".

I was paid $50 for the privilege of having Greta Scacchi walk past it in the clearing sale scene.

I was so thrilled, I didn't wash it for a year after that.

Yup everything has been done before!

However the two movies with Land Rovers that make me laugh are:
    • Ice Cold in Alex
    • 633 Squadron

    Both WWII movies.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

yeah... you've got to laugh - the generic service 4wd I guess - I have even had mine called a jeep - just goes to show how much research they did or what they thought didn't really matter

    1. Smiley gets a gun. (a SWB Series 1)

    2. .........?
As Ford spends more money on product placement than on good engineering it followed that Land Rovers started turning up in a lot of movies. I remember one recent one with Mike Douglas(Mr Zeta-Jones ) and every time he came to a quick halt the tyres squealed even on the gravel maybe the ABS wasn't working
