The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

My number 1 movie for 2013.

Amazing cinematography, great soundtrack and a real feel good story. I watched this with my wife and my 12 year old daughter and we all loved it so a good movie for the whole family.

The story follows Walter who works in the basement of a Magazine publisher taking care of the photo negatives. His life is mundane but he works hard at what he does but with little recognition. He dreams of adventure and regularly zones out and slips into his own fantasy world where he does amazing things.

As the movie progresses we find Walter doing more and dreaming less. His initial real adventure has him wondering if it was real or did he dream it. It's great watching Walter come out of his shell and living life.

The film had a strong emotional effect on me and made me think about the path my own life has taken and what I should be doing to improve it.
