Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) - IMDb
Gday All,
See on the telly last night that Mad Max 4 is coming. No Mel Gibson and the black falcon coupe is back, even though it exploded in the 2nd movie.
Think it may be another movie franchise that is just getting taken tooooo far. One positive, get to see the Falcon coupe on the big screen again.
Not sure if it will appeal to the younger generation, its not a Subaru WRX or a Toyota soarer, so they wont know what it is.
Cheers Ean

Is it even shot in Australia?
The Falcon is back as it is supposed to be set between Mad Max 1 and 2.
It will no doubt be a blockbuster but immediately loses the appeal with its big Hollywood budget and superstars. Not to mention not even being filmed in Australia, but in South Africa. They are saying it was because Australia had had so much rain and they could not film in NSW, plenty of similar areas that were not wet that it could have been shot. The whole point of the original was relatively unknown actors, low budget ingenuity and Australian cars.
Speaking to people in the US who think it would be great I have used the analogy of Gone In 60 seconds, Great original movie, overdone and 2 much of a story line in the remake though it was OK and then would be like doing a remake of this in London or maybe somewhere like Lisbon, just not the same.
I have no issue with remakes but when Hollywood gets hold of original movies they just destroy the. Some i can think of quickly are Gone In 60 Seconds, Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy, Mr Bean, Monty Python Crew doing movies like A Fish Called Wanda, even stuff like Speed Racer (great kids TV show crap movie), Pokemon (kids love the original but stopped watching it when it became US influenced and largely written), Astro Boy, The New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
What next an American version of Skippy, maybe even Matlock Police?
Not against US Blockbusters but they also ruin great concepts.

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

I saw Gigahorse on the back of a semi in November last year.
It was southbound on the M7 coming up to Liverpool.
After researching WTF it was, I found out about Mad Max 4.
