    Extreme 4x4 on 7mate

I have been watching this show for a little while now, while i like the show the host gets to me a bit.I guess being an American show they just don't do Land Rovers and very few Jap trucks. It's GMC,Chev,Ford, jeep for these boys.

What i find surprising is they never change the leave springs for coils when doing suspension upgrades.Although i don't have a great deal of experience with American trucks but i would have thought our Landys would be more than a match for their yank tanks, any thoughts guys?

Have watched the show and enjoy it muchly.
If I had their workshop I'd be in heaven.
The shows seem to be repeating themselves, but I am yet to see the tube buggy finished.
I'll still watch the reruns no problems.

98% of all Land Rovers built are still on the road.
The other 2% made it home.

Cost difference between Britpart and Genuine seals: £2.04. Knowing that your brakes won't fail at any moment: Priceless.

They have on occasion axed off leaf springs and replaced with coils.

Amazing what they do and the kits available. Maybe self certifying, or maybe its like I understand California is - MVR is only interested in emissions - it's the police that will defect you - see Pimp My Ride for the junk that gets around.

...I was thinking more about what went in than came out of the shop. Although yes, lots of tv screens etc - but would be as exciting to folks if just a respray and new seat covers? Probably a bit of product endorsement for the home market.

I watch those shows when i get a chance.
The thing about the US is that the Politicians / regulators are more worried about emissions (California is the worse) than vehicle lifts when it comes to vehicle modifications. Pretty much anybody can buy a 6" or 8" lift put it on themselves and drive it around. During the 80's the biggest thing was bumper laws, and you use to see high lifted vehicles with these huge ugly drop bumpers. I think in some states the regulations on lift is determined by headlight height.
When it comes to building 4wds in the states is that a majority of the builds are centred around trailer queens - they are not driven on the street and trailered to the trail where you can drive them legally on "trails".
4wdrives in the US usually follow into one of these categories - 1) Daily driver - mild 2-3 inch lift and up to 35" tyres 2) rock crawlers - anything goes including 2 1/2 ton rockwell axles and 54" tyres and as much articulation as you can get 3) Mud running - High horsepower, big lift, big tyres but little articulation.
