Foxtel? A question for those who have it.

    Anyone have Foxtel?

I'm considering it, but am wondering what 'packs' I would need/want.

The 'entertainment' pack seems to be the basic offering.

My main interests are: Documentaries and motor sport.

I see they also offer broadband bundles. Has anyone got this and what is it like speed-wise and value for money?

    Thanks
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I'm not actually a foxtel customer (but I thought maybe I could offer a slightly different perspective) I have a entertainment bundle with Optus, so I get phone, internet, and fetch. Something like 30 channels and 30 free movies a month. It's not bad, I'm on a 25/5 NBN connection so it's fast enough to stream movies etc easily, can even do 2 at a time.

I'm not so much into watching sports, I watch movies and docos more. I've been finding that Netflix is a better option - you can watch what you want when you want with no ads. BUT there is no sport on there obviously. So may not suit you.

Might be worth a look into the ISP guys to see what bundle you can get with your ph/internet.

I have Foxtel, I have the Sport Package at $25 P/M, I got it because I wanted to watch V8SC.
I resisted getting it for several months as I thought why should I pay for something that I previously had for nothing?
Anyway, I eventually did get it,....and I love it. This year I will have 4 full days of Bathurst, I get top coverage of all the rounds, and for me it's great, and miles better than FTA.
Of course now there'll be those on here who'll want to crack on about their negativity to V8SC,...fair enough for you guys, but that ain't me, I love my V8s, so for me the package is a good one, as it would be for anyone else who has the same ionterest.
No installation or equipment fee either.
    Pickles.

Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming.

I'm with internode for my broadband (only) and they don't appear to have any TV stuff.

My area doesn't have NBN and according the NBN maps isn't likely to have any time in the foreseeable future (my house is in an 'island' of nothing surrounded by areas where it is being, or is shown as projected to roll out.)

Yea the rollout seems to be very scattered and random.... no apparent pattern. I used to have Telstra ADSL2+ and could still stream pay tv ok...

I'm completely over Foxtel the same old Yank sitcom series 1 episode after episode then again in 2 hours and 4 hours, repeated month after month. Too expensive for what it is. Rarely an Aussie movie.

It is still only connected because of my previous fav show "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart, am watching the new host Trevor Noah, but the box may soon go back to Foxtel if he's not up to scratch.

I don't watch sport or lifestyle, so that is of no interest and after a year or three even the Hitler Channel and the other doco channels are repeats too.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

the repeats are annoying aren't they. I get all excited when I see an episode of something I like, only to realise that it was last nights episode....

    again.... netflix wins

I have foxtel and I am fairly happy, although repetitive shows is annoying, I always seem to see the same episodes but miss others. I have the basic package plus doco's and kids channels, I have two boxes that record which is handy. Unfortunately for motorsport fans it is becoming a necessity to have foxtel, I used to watch f1 religiously when it was on FTA but now I never watch it because I don't want to pay for another pack. I wish foxtel was as cheap as sky in the UK, then I would have no issue paying for the sports pack.

I have FOXTEL with sport and HD but not the movies. Mainly for the AFL as I hate watching footy in sloppy definition.
