    MEGA FACTORIES - ROLLS ROYCE

Just watched Megafactories - Rolls Royce and saw the Phantom being hand built.
Wood work veneer is hand done takes a month to complete an interior, pin stripes hand painted takes a gut 3 hours to do a stripe ( steady hand, french chalks the go stops his hand sticking as he moves the brush along) 17 days to do the leather interior, and they check each leather hide for blemishes like mosquito bites etc
I want one as a daily drive, the only thing that is putting me off signing up for one is I don't really like the front end.
oh well just have to put up with my plastic woodgrain on my ES for a little longer.

I like the 2 guys that do a synchronised 40cm tig weld on the roof, they have to start and stop at exactly the same time to prevent warpage.

Watched that episode a few times now.

At least you can see where the price tag comes from with the amount of detailed workmanship that goes into making them.

    cheers

I could not see myself working on a single piece of wood spending hours just hand sanding, boredom would have to set in. Especially if you did the same task day in day out.

The tiny headlights spoil it for me too dis-proportioned
