    Sully

    Gday All ,

Went and seen this Movie today and was stunned to see they way a true hero was treated and how some tried to use him as a scapegoat instead of accepting that what he did was a truely amazing feat of flying.

If you don't know who he is , he was the pilot who landed the plane in the Hudson river.

Well worth the admission fee, and another gem from Clint Eastwood.

    Cheers Ean.

Tom Hanks, and Eastwood. Mouthwatering stuff. But still just a movie. The NTSB are tasked with finding out the facts, so it doesn't happen again. They can not afford bias, either to the crew, or against. Just the facts.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Very true Bob, but if the movie is true about the investigation that the NTSB did and how they did it then they were bias in their view and went to some extent to make it seem that there were other options.

Guess it comes down to what " based on the true untold story " really means.

    Cheers Ean

I can't wait to see the movie. it is interesting to hear what the NTSB had to say in their final report because i haven't read it. When i did my Aviation Safety Investigators course in the US there were a few NTSB people on various courses I did and all the preliminary reports were glowing for the pilot but not so good for the Cabin Crew. It was a very bad evacuation and the passengers didn't heed any warnings about leaving personal belongings etc. Anybody who can lose two engines and put the aircraft down with no loss of life is a hero in my book.
I was in a helicopter engine failure at Isurava in PNG. about 6000ft and the only remaining engine was struggling in a very heavy helicopter. The pilot handled it professionally and I am still here to talk about it. We landed on Kokoda and the recovery was interesting, but that's another story.
