If we are talking about the dry-break system on the brakes then they have been around for some time.

Theres already rules regarding it, which is why DJR is now under investigation for it. I seen the part of the race after work yesterday where Murp asked Rylan Story what the go was with Fabs holding back - you could tell straight away it was a team order.
Again I belive most of these cars running now could do the entire race without a brake change - its just the rules stipulate they must, most likely still hangs around as it makes the pit stop strategy more interesting to the viewers
look like fabs was going about the speed of a pace car when they all eventually caught up.
Yep, I think so, too. Probably just a pad change, if that.
Larry was the first to go without a pad change way back in the 90's??
He had Endless brew him up some mega thick pads.
I think the pad knock off would've been horrific, if you didn't do a left foot 'confidence' tap going into the chase the length of pedal would've provided some serious sphincter puckering! [emoji50][emoji50][emoji23][emoji23]
Knowing that Supercars always wants a Holden to win, this will be interesting. Are they working on a plan on how to do it without the fans destroying the Stewards box. :lol2:
Bathurst 1000: Scott McLaughlin Bathurst win not confirmed, Fabian Coulthard safety car controversy, latest news | Fox Sports
It would take some very brave (or very dumb) people to strip Scotty of the title. They’d get lynched and rightly so.
Hello Gav, there'll be no way that they'll take the win away from Scotty.
Look, I know you're not really into Supercars, but judging from your comments during the race, you did seem to get quite involved, in with the spirit of things so to speak.
So, what did you thing of what was Bathurst 2019?
Martin.
Overall I did enjoy it yes - I always did when I was a lot more into it. Bathurst is just one of those races that you have to watch isn't it. Middle bit was a bit boring, but I suppose it is a lot of the time. I know you saw a different coverage, but the FTA was quite good overall - a couple of the commentary team I didn't care for, but overall, the same crowd of older V8 drivers that I used to love watching race, so like that they are still involved and know their subject matter so well. First time I'd seen the 'Mustangs' and as I commented, they are super ugly and look more like a Porsche than a Ford. I know they had to fit the body around the car, but geez, it really doesn't suit IMO.
Best looking cars IMO were the Erebus and Red Bull Holdens and the Kelly Racing Nissan
While I used to be a Holden man, I did find myself barracking for Scotty more than I thought they would and was really happy with his win, and actually really happy for Dick Johnson, even though he was the 'arch enemy' back in the day - I do really like him. One of the last of the Old School drivers I grew up with.
Thought the Nissans showed some good form overall and was good to see Kelly crack the top 10, could have been even better for them as well.
Would be great if they had it back on FTA (I know they won't) as I'd probably get back into it, but if you don't have Foxtel, you don't even see an ad for them so you forget the series is even on - I know a lot of others think this too - we've been discussing it at work yesterday - most I spoke to also used to watch it then went off it a bit and have now pretty much forgotten about it now there is nothing to see without paying for it.
I wouldn't mind so much if Foxtel were like EVERY other service like this globally and allow you to pick and choose the channels you want but you have to buy 99% crap to get the 1% you want - that's not a model that I'll ever go back to, and based on falling Foxtel subscriptions year on year - again, I'm not alone with that.
All that BS aside, yes I enjoyed the day. [bigrolf]
I think streaming services would be primarily responsible for the fall in viewers on both FTA and foxtel. I belive the only thing foxtel has to offer is its live sports coverage, the rest is not worth the $$$ which is why I've never had it. I think the Kayo streaming service may well be worth it if you watch lots of sports so theres options to watch it cheaper than having to pay for the full foxtel service. Not that I've signed up to it at all.
Kelly was up and looking good for a top 5 finish until a lapped Mostert gave him a bump
‘That was huge’: Kelly’s late Bathurst scare | Supercars
That's a pretty balanced summation Gav.
Foxtel?....I wouldn't be so sure about future media rights. James Warburton previously Supercars chief has now returned to Ch 7 & has said that He wouldn't rule out having a crack at Supercars. The Foxtel "Deal" isn't "forever" and there have been suggestions that they (Foxtel) may not want to pay the same amount to Supercars when renewal comes due. Whatever that will mean, relative to changes with respect to financial rewards to teams, live coverage etc etc, remains to be seen.
I'm retired so I have a small Foxtel Deal just for Sports, I think it's called Sports+, & I got free equipment & installation. I really do like the Supercars coverage, I had a whole FOUR DAYS of solid coverage, and the racing is ad free,....I wondered how you'd handle the Ads on Ch 10?!
Initially, I refused to get Foxtel,.."Why should I pay for something I previously got for nothing". A friend in Supercars told me it was worth having. But I didn't change until some of the races only got "highlights",..one hour less ads etc etc, meaning ya'd be lucky to get 30 mins of actual racing.
I couldn't cop that, so I went Foxtel, I've never regretted it, but then, I do have the time to watch it,...I also get favorites like Laramie, Bonanza, Route 66, 77 Sunset Strip, from time to time etc with the little bit of extra stuff that's in the deal.
I used to go to races regularly, I took photographs for the Sandown Promoter which enabled me to gain pit & circuit access, and I was one of the first to organize car displays at Sandown nearly 30 yrs ago, which I did for the HSVOC. But I don't attend any more, I don't like the crowds, the parking, and to be honest it's too bloody expensive, plus, Foxtel have cameras everywhere, I can see & hear a lot more than when I was there!
Thanks for your summation, Martin.
