If that came down from the team, everybody would have heard that over the radio, its all monitored. I think it was a smart tactic from FC and great team play considering where he was positioned, and its something that RD would have done also - a stickler for knowing the rule book and making any claim he can. The Stewards would have checked the rules more closely than Neil and Mark.

There is much worse than has happened that that at the track though, most certainly not the worst that has happened.

Either way it was a good tactic, probably could have been done to appear less obvious however

I don't care who won, & I don't care who adopted such tactics,....I think it was bad sportsmanship, whoever instigated it,.....it's not something I would do.

I’m actually glad Scotty won, the others I were going for didn’t get on the podium so good one did that I was barracking for, but the teams tactics were deplorable. Not sure if it would have changed the result though to be honest even if the pack hadn’t been held back.

Bad sportsmanship, bollocks. At that level of sport it was purely a tactic. And I would bet my left one that Dane would have done the same thing if the situation was reversed

Silhouette racing. Who gives a ****? ( Said by a bloke who first went to Mt Panorama in 1968 and last in 1976.) Last time I watched on the box Jim Richards was calling the mob arseholes. I agreed with that sentiment. I would have kept on, but the heart was ripped out of it, and V8 Supercars, or whatever they call them these days, are crap. The cars are made to a formula, and any badging is as misleading as the Pajero badging on a Dakkar car.

But, apparently, something with a Ford badge won? Wow.

Sure, I'm old. But, I remember when GTHOs and GTS Monaros were dodging Doug Whiteford in his Datsun 1200. On radial tyres. 140-150 ( seasonally adjusted ) down conrod ( no chase ) into Murray's, no kitty litter, pit straight up to Hell. These blokes today would **** themselves. And, after practice, we'd all drive the circuit ( every NSW Highway Patrol copper was there with his radar in the later days ), and go to the drive in halfway down conrod. Race day we'd be hanging over the fences. There were different classes, you were Red or you were Blue, Geoghan's Chargers were cheeky ( and bloody quick ), and winning meant better sales. People knew that the cars that raced were connected to the cars they could buy. It meant something to the average punter.

Sorry for the rant, but a memory was triggered. I'll bet, in another 50 or so years, nobody will be nostalgic over events of the weekend just gone. They probably won't remember in a month.

Agreed, not sure on the actual attendance, but the crowd looked pretty thin at the top of the mountain. I remember the crowd would drown out the V8s as they did there final lap...
