The best thing about those DVD's is that they don't over plug ARB stuff.

I think they're ok, make you want to get out there an all, but the blokey stuff is overdone as is most of Roothys cooking.

Pat callinan also has bought a 130 defender and whats wrong with a beer or 10so long as you take the rubbish out of there, althought they may not be everyones taste, i think someone would whinge no matter what attitude they portrayed
I've got a couple of there DVD's with my subscription. They're meant to be light-hearted and not taken seriously, I think Australians are becoming too stiff and losing our easy going nature which is sad. The 'blokey' stuff doesn't bother me, I'm a bit like thet myself at times![]()
4WD monthly is probably the least biased mag in Australia. Like some have mentioned, some of the editorial staff own LR's so that has to be a step in the right direction.

Yep so did I
Roothy testing beer at breakfastfor his damper recipe is not a good look...

I agree, not a good look. I think they are trying to perform a ressurection of the carefree Australian Yobbo for international sales of the DVD's.Originally Posted by Tusker
I don't think they are protraying a 'yobbo' image and it's not there intensions but with early morning beer session it sure appears that way. I wouldn't want them drinking lemonade for example, you'd would be calling them poofs![]()

I find the DVD amusing and entertaining to say the least, and occasionally find something you don't know (rarity). At least they drive Toyotas and not Landies, then we would have problems![]()

Had one, I believe he sold it a while back.John Cadogan has an Extreme
Have seen a couple and they confirm what a ****** that Roothy is
If I want to watch an ad, I will watch tele, but paying good money to watch an ARB, Cooper Tyres promo is just too much for me.
The whole Australian 4x4 media is way too close to aftermarket suppliers. Journalistic credibility went out the window years ago.
I stopped buying all mags months ago....and have not missed it one bit. AULRO is all I need.![]()

The ones I've seen have been fine in a blokey muck-about sort of way, I don't take it too seriously. I do get annoyed by the way there are ads for suppliers about every five minutes, but then I've seen the same thing on 4 x 4 Australia vids as well; it seems the mags are a bit too dependant on the suppliers for my liking, but then you get the same thing in British Landy mags. As long as you allow for the incestuous stuff, I'd rather have the vids than not have them.
