I would love to have a look through their scrap heap. Did you see the drag racer had a range rover engine. Sounded pretty sweet with straight pipes.

See the Landy roof last night (16 Apr)?

Just goes to prove, I guess, that even losing its wheels and driveline and being inverted and brutally butchered can't kill a Land Rover...

Watched a couple, but thought it was a bit too contrived for my liking.

    Its loaded.....

they use a show junk yard for oh+s reasons BUT everything comes from other junk yards when they do the design phase they get to pick what they'd like to use and the bean counters try to get them to use left over parts from other vehicles if possable IE the rover roof that got inverted probabley came from the vehicle that donated its donk 3 shows earlier.

The attentive ones with austar/foxtel would have seen the end of season EP where they interviewed the Hosts/producers and team captains for filler.

The give away is when you see episodes when they go running around looking for a part say a hydraulic motor or pump and everyone just merrily runs/rides a quad bike past the nearly fully intact excavator. Or my personal fave they decide to make a half track and no-one pays attenion to the same excavator.

    of course it's loaded

who in their right mind would scrap perfectly good RHS, stainless steel sheet, impellor pumps, tractors, tyres, boats etc..........

Scrapheap and Junkyard wars are good shows

    but

    IMHO Thunder Races is better.

Incidentally one of the competetors (Army bloke with a dodgy looking Moe) from Scrapheap now has a show on Discovery "Planet mechanics" it's also worth a look.

I started to watch an episode of the US version and thought "this is crap". Never went back.

Thunder races is another good one.

Did anyone see the Great Punkin Chunk? They had to make a device to take to the US to compete in the Great Punkin Chunk. an annual event held on a large property where the sole purpose is to get a pumpkin as far down the paddock as possible. Some of the yanks were making these unbelieveable air cannons that were shooting these pumpkins something like 3000-4000feet
