I still think it's crap. The announcers I've heard are woeful.

i was at school when double J was launched and have listened to it from day 1.
some , not all, of the new music put out there on triple j is really good stuff, ranging from country influences right through the spectrum to classical undertones and it is quite refreshing to hear the new stuff.
one of the latest competitions they are running at the moment is following on from their unearthed quest (discovering unsigned bands like silverchair, missy higgins, grinspoon to name a few) to "unearthed high" where they are looking for school-aged bands to launch into stardom.
it's gotta be a good thing.

WTF?, die hard JJJ fans are always the same

They could have left Missy, Daniella johns and whingespoon in the earth as far as I'm concerned, I have a broad taste in music, but what's on JJJ it ain't

Don't put something down because you don't like it? are you for real? I wan't some of what your having!

I thought that was the way things normally worked, especially in this sort of context where people are expressing their opinions.
I thought the idea was that if you didn't like something, then you offered some critical comment.

I like JJJ as well, like Barney i've been a Js fan from JJ, and like Barney i don't everything they play, but what radio station plays music that we all like all of the time.

One of the main reason i don't listen too commercal radio is the adds, 99% of commercial radio is 2 songs and the next 5 to 10 mins are adds.

I'm now transfering my vinyl on to my PC, then once done i will convert them to CD in MP3, this way i can get multipal albums onto one CD.

Have you got the contact details?

Whilst I agree about the ad's commercial stations, at least you have the variety, up where I live I have a choice, listen to JJJ or listen to stories about what Andrew Johns has done today, what colour Andrew John's poo is today, predictions of the taste, colour smell and consistancy of Andrew John's poo tommorow etc....

I listen to JJJ morning show with sufference, then switch it off.

I used to enjoy listening to Dr Karl on JJJ(is he still on, if so when)?

IMHO Worst thing to ever happen to Sydney radio was Andrew Denton leaving MMM. I could listen to his sadistic mind 24/7.

Except that you can say you don't like things without calling them crap, unless you really do think it is badly made taking into account the demographic they are appealling to and their objective. In JJJ's case the objective is not ratings. I don't much like Adam Spencer but he did a good job at what he was doing. His replacements were crap.

I always assumed that saying something was crap was just shorthand for, "I know some other people with different expectations/experiences/tastes may have a different opinion of this product/service/idea, but generally I find that it doesn't reach the standard I would expect or the standard required for me to become a supporter or advocate."

The shorter version seems to be more commonly used than the longer version.
