Toyota's most rugged Land Cruiser is back in Japan

I saw a mine-spec RRS the other day.
White, high-viz yellow stripes, all the flashing orange lights, site markings, had a designated LV number, flag, etc.
I'd like a job in this mine please....

1HDT good machine is it,the biggest POS motor ever sold in Oz,thats why you never see them now,even the die hards have given up on them,can't get parts for them either,my best mate who is a Tojo tragic sold his this year and drives a VW,he just could spend any more money on it,1HZ,yeh baby,what a power house,I've had two,I could never believe a motor that burns so much fuel could produce such little power,and overheat at the drop of a hat,what about that R151 gearbox the LC use,what a great idea making the output gear smaller so you can squeeze a 5th gear in there,the whole lot hanging out supported with just one bearing,thats engineering for ya,lucky I had my not dependable unreliable Tdi defender. The owner of that ghost tojo troopy fills up at work occasionally; he's actually a really nice bloke. As he says, he doesn't have a wife or kids, so he's got to spend his money on something. We've talked about the mods I'm doing on the p38, and he's been quite interested. Usually when I mention I've a p38 to a tojo driver I get an ear full of ignoramus (even amongst some lr fans too).

I've seen some photos and stories of how those mining vehicles are treated, there's nothing wrong with giving them a bootfull, but imo there's a very clear line between using and abusing.
