Car transport - Sydney to Adelaide

In another thread, you'll see I'm looking for an MG. I've got my eye on two, both in Sydney. The trouble is, getting them from Sydney to Adelaide. Is anyone able to help or give definite advice on how to achieve this?

Both will have boxes of parts, though one could be considered a complete unit with the bits packed inside it.

    Do I have a plan!!!!!!!!!

Swing by my place on your way to Sydney. Hitch up my tandem. Go to Sydney to collect your MG. Tow it home. On the tandem, swap the MG for the Series 1. Return the tandem with the Series 1 to place of collection. Drive home happy.

Something of that order would work, but I'm having visions of your tandem hooked up behind my Fiat Panda...with no towbar, maybe a piece of string?

If you were happy to do the towing, I could pay your fuel costs from home to Sydney to Adelaide though. Not sure I could wait till Christmas though.

Note from the (newly) wise: It's best to buy local... but move to Sydney or Melbourne first so you've got some choice
