home made bio diesel modern engines?
I have a freind who has made bio desiel for a hilux for a few yrs, it decieded to die a little while ago, due to head gasket at....450 000 kms
He was making his fuel for 20 to 25 cents per litre......
So what does it do to your engine?
He gave me a rough outline of what he does and it involves cotton seed oil, caustic soda, and racing fuel
Is this a fuel suitable for a old style engine (say pre 1985), or can it be run in a more modern vehcile?
I am not expert, but am looking for alternitives to paying 1.60 at the pump
Is there a defender motor more suited to this?

TD5 on the good oil..
there is good information on the following website..
http://biodiesel.infopop.cc/eve/foru...rm/f/214106403
it covers a wide range of engine types, and people contribute their experiences.. you'll even find my contributions there, too!
regards,
biodiesel bob
